Trained at The Massage School in Western Massachusetts, Raven brings a unique combination of methodologies to his work as a licensed massage therapist. His intensive study of martial arts grants him exceptional understanding of body mechanics, which he applies with best practices in inclusive and trauma-informed care. The result is an uncommonly refreshing massage experience that releases even deeply-held tension, delivered with sensitivity and compassion.
About Me
I like to give the type of massage that I want to receive. As a client, my ideal massage is deep and relieving, opening the body and unlocking internal movement without exceeding the body's limits. I want to receive massage that supports my work, movement practices, and day-to-day life by releasing tension and freeing those stuck points in my body that I cannot access on my own. I work with each of my clients to provide them with such an experience, tailored to each individual's body.
My decision to study massage therapy was informed by a long-term interest in movement and the human body, my growing understanding of myself and the type of work that nourishes me, and a desire to contribute positively to the lives of others.
Having practiced martial arts for my entire adult life, I have a longstanding interest in how the body works and moves. Beginning as an interest in my own body and the limitations that I encountered in my movement, this quickly evolved into a broader interest in the human body. When I realized that working as a massage therapist would allow me to study the body from a new perspective, create a nourishing and sustainable working environment for myself, and help others in a way that I feel is truly meaningful, I decided to make it my career. I began massage school in 2022, received my certification in 2023, and opened my own practice as a licensed massage therapist in 2024.
I've lived in Amherst, Massachusetts since 2018, having originally moved here for graduate school before changing career paths. Outside of my massage work, I practice Aikido and Bajiquan, study monetary history, and sustain an intermittent cycling habit.
